The Sri Lanka Chapter run by Suranjit Premadasa & family imported Marwari Horses in the year 2003 and have since then continued to take them. Apart from horse riding and safaris, Sri Lankan Marwari Horses shows have been organized at the prestigious Parliament ground. A breeding programme is being run by the Premadasa family and today they have in their stables over 40 horses.
In October' 2011 the South - East Asian Beach Games are being organized in Sri Lanka. The sport of tent pegging has been included for the first time by the FEI. All the horses participating in this event are Marwari and Kathiawari.
